Local schools based in Henley-on-Thames will be receiving energy audits helping them improve energy efficiency and become more eco-friendly.
Henley Town Council’s designated climate emergency work group aims to make the town on the River Thames carbon neutral by the year 2030. As part of this initiative, it wants energy audits performed at several schools, including Henley College, Gillotts Schoo,l along with Sacred Heart and Valley Road Primary School. Each of the listed learning institutions will follow in the footsteps of Badgemore Primary School, which already has an energy audit scheduled.
Chairman for the group for Henley, Tony Hoskins, commented:
“We would enable schools to undertake energy audits and, based on the findings, to implement initiatives to improve their energy efficiency.”
Along with the audits, the group also wishes buildings to be retro-fitted with draught-proofing and insulation making them more energy efficient to run.
Another energy scheme the group is proposing to trial is entitled “Connect Kerb”. The move would see public charge points for use by electric vehicles introduced to the local area in a bid to encourage residents to invest in the eco-friendlier options available.
At Bundy’s Electrical, we can offer energy audits for your premises showing you exactly how much you could be saving annually by using more environmentally friendly options such as LED lighting over traditional fluorescent solutions. Whether you contact a commercial electrician in Chester or Henley-on-Thames, an energy audit can be an ideal way to lessen your carbon footprint and reduce your utility costs.
