The cause of a recent blaze that damaged Drayton Manor Theme Park has now been identified after an investigation by local fire and rescue services.
A large-scale fire at Drayton Manor in Staffordshire’s Tamworth recently took hold, with fire crews called to attend. The commercial property currently keeps around 100 animals at the park and has been closed under government restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Incident commander for Staffordshire’s Fire and Rescue Service, Stuart Ruckledge, commented that an entire changing block had been on fire, but dedicated crews had managed to stop the blaze spreading out to other parts of the park.
The park stated it was grateful that damage to the park had been so minimal and limited to the Thomas Land part of the property. None of the rides at the location had suffered any significant damage from the fire, and no people or animals were injured in the incident.
Owners of commercial business operations are obligated to ensure their premises are protected from potential fire hazards and prepared with a comprehensive risk assessment for fire safety. Defensive measures necessary may involve the fitting of fire alarms or smoke detectors onsite to safeguard people and property. Enterprises booking a fire alarm installation in Chester, Tamworth and other northern UK communities can rely on professional electrical contractors to fit equipment correctly and to code.
The investigation by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue officers has now uncovered that the cause of the fire was an electrical fault.
