Thermal imaging cameras have been installed in a Cardiff pub as a safety measure against coronavirus.
Commercial enterprises across the UK are starting to reopen following the coronavirus lockdown and recent reports indicate many are employing new safety measures, from personal protective equipment (PPE) to scheduled deep cleaning. However, some of the steps taken involve more advanced equipment.
The Philharmonic Public House on St Mary Street in Cardiff has adopted multiple measures designed to keep both its customers and staff safe and to ensure it adheres to the recommended social distancing guidelines.
Nick Newman, manager of the Philharmonic, commented on the pub’s new safety plans:
“We’ve made structural adjustments to secure a one-way system around the building – that includes making a former staff-only staircase accessible to the one-way system. Probably the most eye-catching thing will be the installation of the thermal imaging cameras.”
The new thermographic cameras are capable of screening anyone who seeks to enter the premises, and scans them for the high skin temperatures often associated with those suffering from coronavirus. The cutting-edge cameras then send data to a monitor based at the pub’s entrance, where a member of staff can see if customers are safe to admit after examining the thermographic readings.
Commercial enterprises planning a security system installation in Chester, Cardiff and other parts of the UK are advised to first consult qualified electrical contractors prior to purchase. The wide range of security solutions available on the current market can make choosing the right option a difficult task and experienced electricians can assist, suggesting suitable systems geared towards bespoke business requirements.
