The Dudley Metropolitan Borough of Lye is introducing new CCTV to safeguard commercial properties in key areas like town centres.
Retail properties in UK communities can depend on qualified electricians for advice and installations of CCTV systems when they decide to step up their security. Well informed on the latest equipment available, electrical contractors can help select a suitable solution that answers an enterprise’s specific needs, before carrying out a professional CCTV installation in Chester or Lye.
Work has now begun on the substantial CCTV update in Lye that forms part of a £1.7 million scheme. Technical instalments for the network, including the laying of fibre optic cabling, are already underway in preparation for seven new devices being deployed around the town.
Dudley Council cabinet member Laura Taylor has been driving the recent CCTV upgrade initiative, and she commented:
“It’s great to see work is starting on schedule in Lye and will be a welcome boost to shoppers and traders. This is a major investment and is about making sure our town centres, and other key locations are safe and secure.”
Three of the new devices are set to be installed on Lye High Street, with a further three to be stationed along the bypass. The final camera will be positioned to monitor Clinic Drive. The new installation in Lye will see the town join a list of other local areas that have benefitted from an upgrade, like Stourbridge, Dudley, Brierley Hill and Halesowen.
The CCTV work in Lye is expected to run into 2021.
