A new suite of security cameras has been successfully installed throughout Market Drayton in Shropshire. The state-of-the-art equipment has been fitted to protect retail properties and safeguard the townspeople by deterring crime in the area.
Commercials enterprises planning a CCTV installation in Chester, Shropshire and other parts of the country can count on qualified electrical contractors to deploy equipment. Able to advise on the most reliable devices available, professional electricians also have the skills and experience to fit cameras, ensuring they are operating to a business’ advantage.
The new CCTV scheme has been made possible by the assistance of the Crime Commissioner and the West Mercia Police, which awarded funding of £10,000. The Mayor of Market Drayton, Roy Aldcroft, gave thanks for the grant and commented on the project’s achievements to date:
“The car parks are now also covered by cameras which recognise number plates. The pictures they produce are as sharp as anything. It’s been a real great improvement.”
The Town Council’s security initiative has completed two stages so far. In phase one, the car parks situated at Tower Lawn were brought under the watchful eye of the new devices, while phase two saw the retail hubs of the High Street and Cheshire Street properly protected. Phases three and four are expected to roll out later, extending the camera network’s reach.
Police officers for the town have already announced on social media that the new equipment has allowed them to identify a suspect in a recent crime.
