A total of 10 individual fire crews were recently called to attend a serious fire that broke out at a factory based in a Lincolnshire village.
Residents in the village of Heckington were advised by firefighters onsite to stay indoors and keep their windows firmly closed to avoid harm after a local snack processing factory went up in flames. The Roasting Company, located off Station Road in Heckington Business Park, required crews equipped with multiple appliances, including a water carrier and an aerial ladder, to extinguish the blaze within one of its commercial buildings.
A statement issued by the fire services announced that all personnel on site were safe and had been fully accounted for.
Eyewitness reports from the village noted a large volume of black smoke, and a staff member from a nearby auto repair firm commented to the Sleaford Standard that the blaze had sent the factory’s snacks into the air, with peanuts shells exploding and littering the area. The fire also impacted the adjacent ambulance depot next door, rendering it unable to perform patient pick-ups.
Enterprises operating commercial and industrial premises around the UK must ensure that the fire safety measures are always functioning at optimum to minimise any risk to staff onsite. Businesses that require a fire alarm or smoke alarm installation in Chester, Lincolnshire or any other part of the country can count on qualified electricians to not only fit equipment, but also to carry out regular maintenance tests to ensure equipment is in good working order.
